Bio

Bud Adams, a life-long Washington area resident, has over 40 years of experience in architecture and design. Prior to establishing his own firm ,he was a ten year associate architect with the award winning Washington, DC architectural firm Arthur Cotton Moore & Associates, focusing on historic preservation projects, federal institutional and residential design.

In 1992, Adams Architects opened in historic Old town Alexandria, Virginia as a full service design firm, focusing on custom residential design, historic preservation, & custom additions to historic properties, small commercial & office design, interior design and landscape design. Executing nearly 500 commissions, Adams Architects' projects have been featured in more than 60 national publications, and televised on HGTV.

The expansion and renovation of his own residence, an 1804 Federal style house in Old Town Alexandria, was featured in a ten page pictorial essay in Traditional Home, with magazine cover photo of his Jeffersonian inspired drawing room.

Bud is a current member of the Old and Historic District Architectural Review Board in Alexandria, Virginia.
